We are hiring for a Ambulatory Med Surg Rn for our client in Miami, Florida. The Ambulatory Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive pre-operative/pre-procedure and post-operative/post-procedure nursing care for Veterans undergoing moderate sedation and/or anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM or 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Position Summary
The RN will support multiple specialty areas including:
- Operating Room
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Pulmonary Lab
- CT/MRI (including pre- and post-hydration)
- GI Suites
- Interventional Radiology
- Pain Clinic
Additional responsibilities include conducting daily post-operative/post-procedure follow-up phone calls and providing clinical coverage support for the Urology Clinic, Wound Care Clinic, Pain Clinic, and Pre-Anesthesia Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care before and after procedures
- Monitor patients receiving moderate sedation and/or anesthesia
- Assess, document, and communicate patient status and care plans
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions
- Conduct post-procedure follow-up calls
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain compliance with clinical standards, safety regulations, and documentation requirements
- Float and provide coverage support across ambulatory specialty clinics as needed
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required
- Prior outpatient and/or ambulatory surgery experience strongly preferred
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) accepted; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Nursing education must be completed through an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Licensure & Certifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Pay is up to $47 an hour
