Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team in Los Angeles, CA. The RRT is responsible for assessing, treating, and managing patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. This role works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop care plans in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, nebulization, chest physiotherapy, and airway management.
  • Set up, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP systems, and other respiratory support equipment.
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis, pulmonary function testing, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including rapid response and code blue events.
  • Monitor patient progress, document treatments accurately, and communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, disease management, and equipment use.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and professional standards of practice.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • Valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS preferred).
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (critical care experience a plus).
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in high-acuity and fast-paced environments.

Work Environment

This position may involve working in:

  • Acute care units
  • Intensive Care Units (ICU)
  • Emergency Department
  • Neonatal or Pediatric units (if applicable)
  • Skilled nursing or specialty care settings

Shift flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
