We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens and other laboratory samples while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and specimen integrity. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Specimen Collection

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of all ages.
  • Collect, label, process, and transport specimens according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
  • Maintain specimen integrity throughout the collection and handling process.

Patient Care & Customer Service

  • Explain collection procedures and address patient questions or concerns.
  • Provide compassionate and professional care to patients during specimen collection.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately when necessary.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with applicable regulations.

Laboratory Support

  • Prepare specimens for testing and transportation.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within laboratory and electronic medical record systems.
  • Assist laboratory staff with specimen processing and workflow as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of collection supplies and materials.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Adhere to all laboratory policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and training activities.


Qualifications

Required

  • Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience.
  • Current Phlebotomy certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, laboratory, or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and laboratory information systems.
  • CPR/BLS certification.

Shift: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, and Holiday Shifts May Be Required

Pay is based on experience staring at $18.00 up to 25.00/hr
