Position Summary:
Total Talent Consultants is looking for multiple Medical Technician (SPS) is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment in compliance with facility policies, manufacturer instructions, and Joint Commission standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Decontamination & Reprocessing
- Decontaminate instruments and equipment following manufacturer instructions and facility SOPs.
- Wear required PPE and maintain strict infection control standards.
- Receive, inventory, clean, and track instruments, including loaner equipment.
- Reprocess endoscopic equipment and maintain required logs (Cidex, AER, etc.).
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Assembly & Sterilization
- Assemble and package instrument trays per count sheets and AAMI standards.
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Operate washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, cart washers, and sterilizers (steam, STERRAD, V-PRO Max).
- Accurately utilize the instrument tracking system.
Sterile Storage & Case Cart Preparation
- Prepare and restock case carts for scheduled, add-on, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain sterile storage areas and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with SPS and Operating Room staff regarding instrument needs.
Professional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate teamwork, initiative, and timely task completion.
- Complete required training modules (TMS) as assigned.
- Support departmental needs and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year of sterile processing experience required (Surgical Technician experience may substitute).
- Ability to work independently in instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization.
- Experience assembling trays for multiple surgical specialties (e.g., General, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT, Plastic/Oral Surgery).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and reusable medical equipment reprocessing.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- HSPA or CBSPD certification preferred.
