As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in maintaining our fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, drilling equipment, and construction machinery. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and complete repairs to minimize downtime and keep operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective components including engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, drivetrains, and steering components.
  • Inspect equipment for safety, DOT compliance, and operational readiness.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work closely with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.


Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks and/or construction equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic information.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred

  • ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Experience working on drilling, construction, utility, or off-road equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DOT inspections and FMCSA regulations.
